Bubbling Brook Painting

"Bubbling Brook" I recently came across a painting I had started, which, frankly, was quite bland. So I decided to add more color and more energy, for more interest, resulting in the final version you see here.

The initial painting had begun with a textured background on canvas. For the texture, I used modeling paste, applied with a palette knife. I allowed the modeling paste to dry fully, before I began painting.

For this final version, I used Liquitex Professionals Heavy Body Acrylics. After the paint has dried for a few days, I add a clear varnish, which makes a nice finish.

In the YouTube video of this painting, I show how I made the painting pop, by adding more vibrant and energetic colors. You can view the video here: Bubbling Brook.

As I create more art, I'll share it here, from my Misty Glow Studio in Brown County, or through my YouTube channel.
