Sunset on Water Painting

"Sunset on Water" I created this bold, impressionistic painting of sunset reflections on water with acrylics on watercolor paper. It's a quick and easy way to create a painting, or for working out compositions, or trying new ideas or color combinations. The watercolor paper is cold press, 300 gsm, 100% cotton. The acrylic paints are Liquitex Heavy Body.

In the YouTube video of this painting, I show how I applied gesso to the watercolor paper, then applied the acrylics, focusing on bold strokes of color for the sunset and water. You can view the short video here: Acrylics on Watercolor Paper.
