The scene is one near Yellowwood Lake here in Brown County, Indiana. It brings back vivid memories of bees buzzing in the grasses, butterflies flitting from flower to flower, the gentle lap of the water against the shore, and the warmth of the sunshine filtering through the trees.
This is a "square foot painting" -- 12 inches by 12 inches -- done with heavy body acrylic paints on stretched canvas.
I'll be doing more nature-inspired paintings in the weeks to come.
